Application Process For Federal Disaster Assistance Begins


FORT MONMOUTH, NJ — State and local governments and certain nonprofit organizations in the southern New Jersey counties that may be eligible for disaster assistance following the Dec. 19 20 snowstorm are urged to begin the process of applying for federal assistance.

FEMA/Territory Work To Restore Infrastructure Damaged During September 29, 2009 Earthquake, Tsunami, And Flooding
PAGO PAGO, AS — After a federally declared disaster, funding for the repair or rebuilding of damaged public infrastructure is a critical part of the recovery process. Accordingly, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), through its Public Assistance (PA) Program, will reimburse the Territory of American Samoa for 90% of the eligible cost for emergency measures and permanent restoration. Additionally, the President has authorized 100% Federal share of assistance for a 30 consecutive day period chosen by each applicant for debris clearance and emergency work required as a result of the September 29 disaster.

S.D. Office of Emergency Management and FEMA Encourage Flood Preparedness
DENVER - Officials will hold town hall meetings in eight South Dakota communities February 22-26 to help citizens learn more about the 2010 flood outlook, flood insurance, and flood preparation. These town hall meetings are open to the public and will provide citizens the opportunity to hear from formal presentations about what they can be doing now to prepare for potential flooding, and also allow for questions to be answered.
